If your photo has a visual fault — such as blurriness, glare, or other quality issues — we’re here to help. Get in touch with us, and we can arrange a refund if needed.
Photos are available in a small window outside the booth immediately after printing. If you've already checked and your photo is not there after making a payment, please contact us — we’ll be happy to help and can arrange a refund if needed.
1.Check your code format: Your code must follow case-sensitive guidelines and contain exactly 22 characters, split into 6 boxes, for example: 1PMI 96EN 0602 1909 37Y7 02. Here’s the breakdown:
Box 1: Always starts with 1PMI, Box 2: Machine code (e.g. 96EN), Box 3: Date the photo was taken (e.g. 0602 for June 2nd), Box 4: Time the photo was taken (e.g. 1909 for 7:09 PM), Box 5 & 6: 6 random characters (e.g. Y702). ⚠️ Important: Be careful not to mix up similar characters like 1 & I or 0 & O.
2. Have you waited 24–48 hours? During peak periods (like summer), our booths process up to 6,000 requests per day, which can cause delays of up to 48 hours for photos to reach the Irish Passport Office. Please try your code intermittently within this 48-hour window before contacting us.
3. Still not working after 48 hours? Please contact us, and we’ll investigate further.
You may be eligible for a refund if your photo was rejected due to a technical issue. If you recently submitted your ID photo for a passport, visa, or other official document and were later asked to retake the photo, we may be able to compensate you depending on the reason for the rejection.
Refunds are available if your photo was rejected due to:
1. A blurry image / 2. Lines or streaks through the photo / 3. Lens flare or glare on the image
To request a refund, please contact us with:
1. Proof of the failed application (e.g. screenshot of the rejection email or photo of the letter)
2. The time, date, and location of the machine used
Our support team will review your request and respond as soon as possible.
⚠️ Please note: We do not offer refunds if the photo was rejected due to:
1. Smiling / 2. Hair covering the face / 3. Wearing hats or accessories
These are user-related errors and are not eligible for compensation.
Our official ID photos adhere to strict international standards, with a photo frame size of 45mm x 35mm (ICAO compliant) and a head size (chin to crown) between 26mm and 30mm.

You only pay when you're happy with your photo. One of our key differences is ensuring customer satisfaction—so you can retake your photo as many times as you like. Once you're satisfied, you can proceed to payment, and the booth will print your photo.
In most cases, your photo will be available on the DFA website just a few minutes after you’ve taken it. However, in some instances, if there's an unstable connection, it may take a bit longer for the photo to become available for upload. In such cases, the maximum waiting time would be 48 hours.
